Joanna Black
Joanna Black is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Australia.Ms. Black specialises in Australian income tax and works with clients to find the right answer on complex Australian tax issues, including large-scale and listed company mergers and acquisitions; capital markets transactions, including listed and unlisted company debt and equity raisings; capital management transactions; and unlisted and listed company restructurings.Ms. Black’s clients have included Australia’s largest publicly listed companies across the financial services and other sectors, large corporates and multinationals, and institutional investors operating or investing in the Australian market. Her expertise includes developing and reviewing the initial structure of transactions; drafting and negotiating the tax aspects of transaction documents, including public documents; engaging with revenue authorities to obtain certainty on tax outcomes; and advising on post-transaction implementation and complex tax issues.Ms. Black completed her legal training at Herbert Smith Freehills and spent most of her tax career at Greenwoods & Herbert Smith Freehills (affiliated with global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills), prior to its acquisition by PwC. Ms. Black then served in the Corporate and Global Tax team at PwC before joining A&M.Ms. Black earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in law from the University of Melbourne. Cameron Blackwood

The Hon David Bradbury
Mr Bradbury has over 25 years experience in law, government, tax policy and administration and public policy more broadly. He brings substantial domestic and international experience.Mr Bradbury is currently a partner in KPMG Australia’s Consulting Division.Previously, Mr Bradbury was a senior executive at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris between 2014 and 2024. There, he was the Head of the Tax Policy and Statistics Division and the Deputy Director of the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration.Mr Bradbury was a member of the House of Representatives in the Australian parliament between 2007 and 2013. He served as a minister in the Australian Government. Michael Brennan
Michael Brennan is the CEO of the e61 Institute. He is an experienced economic policy professional, having been a former Chair of the Australian Productivity Commission and Deputy Secretary of the Australian Treasury. He has also worked as a Deputy Secretary in the Victorian Treasury, and as a consultant as well as an adviser to Federal and State Treasurers and Ministers for Finance.

Jana Pittman
Two times world champion, four times Commonwealth champion - in the sport of athletics, Jana Pittman personifies resilience and determination. When continual injuries hampered her athletic career and could have signalled retirement, she swapped the track for the ice, joining the Australian women's bobsled team and becoming the first woman to represent Australia in both a Summer (2000, 2004) and Winter (2014) Olympic Games. Off the track, Jana completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Western Sydney University in 2019 (graduating with First Class Honours and the university medal) and is now a junior doctor in Women's Health. She completed a Masters of Reproductive Medicine at the University of New South Wales in 2020 and has initiated her PhD in Obstetrics (focusing on aspects of uterus transplantation). This busy woman is proud mum to six children: Cornelis; little sisters Emily and Jemima; Charlie; and most recently, twins Quinlan and Willow. Having experienced her own personal scare with cervical dysplasia, Jana became an ambassador for the Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation. In 2021, Jana was a participant in the gruelling television show SAS Australia on Channel 7. She made it to the last day of the course and was the final female standing among the 18 celebrity recruits, despite having given birth only five and a half months previously.

Miranda Stewart
Miranda Stewart is Professor of Law at the University of Melbourne Law School where she is Director of the Tax Group and is an Honorary Professor and Fellow at the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute at the Crawford School of Public Policy, The Australian National University. Miranda was the inaugural Director of the Institute from 2014 to 2017. Miranda carries out research, advisory and teaching across a wide range of topics on taxation law and policy including taxation of large and small business entities, not-for-profits and individuals; international taxation and the role of tax in development; reform processes and budget institutions; and gender equality in tax and transfer systems. Chris Vanderkley
Chris leads PwC's Tax Transparency and Governance practice. He has assisted more than 300 of the firm's clients in implementing their tax governance framework (with supporting documentation) and supported them with their ATO Top 100 PCR reviews and Top 1000 SAR/CAR reviews.Chris was a member of the Federal Government's Board of Taxation. He has 35 years of experience as a tax professional, and is a chartered accountant and a chartered tax advisor.Prior to joining PwC, he was in senior roles at GE for over 20 years, including Country CFO and Chair of most of GE’s Boards in ANZ. Adrian also advises a wide range of Australian and international clients on inbound and outbound investment. Adrian is the Chair of the Law Council of Australia's Business Law Section, he has extensive engagement with Government, Treasury and the ATO, being a member of the National Tax Liaison Group, Consultation Steering Group, Large Business Stewardship Group, and remains a member of the Commissioner's Remedial Power panel.

Hang Vo is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Melbourne, specialising in corporate international tax.Hang is an expert on Pillar Two, with deep technical knowledge and practical experience in Pillar Two implementation and ongoing compliance, as well as advisory support relating to corporate structuring and transactions. She currently serves on Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Pillar Two Steering Committee.She also has extensive experience advising multinational clients on complex transactions and multijurisdictional tax matters, including anti-hybrid rules, cross-border embedded royalties, and tax controversy issues.Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal Tax, Hang spent 18 years with PwC Australia in the international tax practice.

Stephen Walters
Stephen Walters is Chief Economist of Optimal Economics Pty Ltd, based in Sydney.He previously was chief economist for the Business Council of Australia (BCA) and chief economist for NSW in Treasury. Before joining NSW Treasury, Stephen was Chief Economist with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and, for 14 years, was Chief Economist Australia and New Zealand for investment bank J.P.Morgan.Stephen previously was Senior Economist with Access Economics in Melbourne and International Economist with Norwich Union and Alliance Capital in the United Kingdom. He also spent seven years as an Economist with the WA Treasury in Perth.Stephen holds a Bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Western Australia and a Master's degree in applied finance from the University of Melbourne. He also has qualifications in journalism and graduated from the AICD's Company Directors Course in 2017.Stephen also is associate director of the Australian Centre for International Trade and Investment (ACITI) and is consultant chief economist for Keys Thomas and Associates. He is a former chair of the Executive Committee of the Australian Business Economists (ABE).Stephen has published three books, with a fourth to be published soon.
